EUTurbines views on an Energy Union R&I strategy
02 June 2016
EUTurbines has replied to the Commission’s public consultation on the development of a comprehensive, integrated R&I and Competitiveness Strategy for the Energy Union, which aimed at identifying priority areas and actions that can best contribute to Europe’s transition to a sustainable, competitive, energy-efficient and low-carbon economy. For EUTurbines, the development of the identified R&I areas should be primarily done through demonstration projects and H2020 calls, being one of them flexibility, ensuring the stability of the grid and security of supply. In the same way, a call for better investment signals and market incentives as well as a better interaction among EU and national standards is made. Finally, the importance of keeping industry and R&I activities in Europe is highlighted.
