The decarbonisation of the gas network will not happen overnight. In the coming years, increasing amounts of renewable and low-carbon gases – hydrogen being the most prominent – will be introduced into the system. Gas-based technologies need to be prepared for these changes as they come.

The gas turbine industry is working on defining “H2-readiness” for power generation.

The gas turbine industry is committed to ensure that new installations are H2-ready – with different levels of requirements and progressive adaptation needs – and to offer retrofit solutions for existing assets. In parallel, EUTurbines is working on defining “H2-readiness” and identifying the requirements to be fulfilled for a gas power plant to utilise hydrogen in the future.

More information will be available soon – stay tuned!
