Industrial Applications
Turbines are used in industrial settings, typically in energy intensive industries and where both power and heat are needed – but not only. Typical applications include:
- Delivering heating and/or cooling in cogeneration mode, where power and heat is simultaneously produced for industries with heat or cold demand, such as the chemical industry
- Providing mechanical power, where gas turbines are used to drive compressors in the oil and gas sector, compress air for pneumatic tools or pump fluids
- Recovering waste gases and waste heat resulting from industrial processes to produce additional power, thus, increasing the energy efficiency of the process
