Bridging the Channel on CCUS: EU and UK need to act now on ETS linkage

With 55+ key players from across the industry and civil society, we have addressed a joint letter to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and other European Commissioners and UK Ministers.
In this letter, we:
- Welcome the EU and UK’s commitment to linking their Emissions Trading Systems.
- Stress the urgency of advancing negotiations on the recognition of cross-border CO₂ transport and storage.
- Call for the creation of a dedicated EU–UK Working Group on CCUS under the Trade and Cooperation Agreement.
