Turbine industry commitments presented at PowerGen Europe

PowerGen Europe is the most important power generation convention in Europe, with over 18.000 visitors and 800 exhibitors from around the world. In this context, EUTurbines took the opportunity to promote the renewable gas industry commitment.

During the convention, the President of EUTurbines, Thomas Thiemann, participated in two separate sessions, each dedicated to present opportunities and challenges for the decarbonisation of the future energy system. He highlighted the significant role of turbine technology in ensuring clean and stable power and heat generation in the future. He further identified renewable gases as major component for this endeavour and the industry efforts to develop retrofit solutions that will enable the smart and cost-efficient use of the existing infrastructure.

In addition, he also stressed the need for a favourable framework and research support ensuring that decarbonised gases and their use become a reality as soon as possible.

The key message of both interventions: the turbine industry is ready to contribute to the future decarbonised energy mix.
