EUTurbines-EUGINE Position on Energy System Integration
15 May 2020
In a joint position paper on energy system integration, EUTurbines, together with EUGINE, calls for a balanced decarbonisation approach supporting and reaping all the benefits from the uptake of renewable and decarbonised gases, such as the possibility of long-term and seasonal energy storage. Enhanced (cross-sectoral) interactions between climate-neutral gases, liquid fuels, heat/cold and electrons are needed and will result in a fit-for-purpose energy system.
The position paper further focuses on how gas power plant technologies improve energy efficiency and provides both best practice examples and recommendations for the Commission’s upcoming EU strategy.
