Position paper on Environmental Omnibus – Simplification of Administrative Burdens in Environmental Legislation

EUTurbines and ETN Global welcome the European Commission’s proposal to simplify administrative burdens in environmental legislation while maintaining high environmental standards and supporting the energy transition.
The paper supports the proposed amendments to the Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) and the Medium Combustion Plant Directive (MCPD) concerning NOx emissions from hydrogen combustion and considers that the proposed footnote would benefit from complementary non-binding EU-level guidance on its practical implementation. It also supports the proposed amendments to Article 14a of the IED concerning Environmental Management Systems (EMS). EUTurbines and ETN Global further reiterate their readiness to contribute technical input in support of implementation.
