Revision of EU State Aid Guidelines for Climate, Energy & Environment

EUTurbines welcomes that the European Commission, in its draft guidelines, recognises the future value of gas power plants and their contribution to decarbonisation. The EUTurbines Position Paper recommends a number of improvements to the proposed text, especially the recognition that gas power plants are not limited to the use of natural gas but can operate with renewable and climate-neutral gases, the technology-neutrality of security of supply measures, the eligibility of operating costs and references to the EU Taxonomy.
